Why only wenseday?

Why have I only been posting on Wenesdays? Well, that's an extremely boring question. Don't you have anything better to do with your time than ask something that absolutely no one either cares about, or has even noticed? If you are reading this blog, then I assume that answer to the latter n is a resounding no. Thus, I shall answer the former.

The only time I've really been at the computer with the time or inclination to write, ie haven't been working at starbucks since 5:30 in the AM, or am about to go into Starbucks to work until 11:00 in the PM, is when I am at Tribeca Productions on Wensedays and often, especially during the writer's strike, have nothing else to do. Now that the writer's strike is over, I still have little to do, hence my posting only on Wenesdays.

Some news:
I added a link to my youngest brother's new blog That Green Gentleman in my link section.

I'm getting sick, but trying desperately not to. I didn't sleep at all on Saturday night. We went out for my brother's bachelor party (not the one with the blog) and I didn't get back from Manhattan until four in the am. As I was scheduled to work at six thrity I figured sleep would just make me more tired and I stayed awake and worked my eight hour shift. I got a lot of sleep afterwards, but everytime I wear myself down like that I get sick. And always the same way too. Sore throat that turns into a runny nose and congestion headache, and is usually gone in about a weeks time. So I figure I have a few more days of drinking copious amounts of orange juice, eating lots of soup, and trying my best to stay out of the cold and rain (doens't help that I was out shoveling snow three times yesterday, and that it is horrid and cold and rainy today), drinking tea, and sleeping.

As always, good night, and good luck.

The good and the bad (the ugly is on a much needed vacation)

I have caught a cold. It's one of those really annoying completely bearable colds. It's just enough to make you feel lousy, but not lousy enough to skip work, or any other aspect of life to rot in front of the TV with a box of tissues and hot soup. This is me drinking tons of OJ, sucking down halls vitamin C drops (strawberry flavored) and drinking cup after cup of chamomile tea. For dinner on Friday I made an egg drop soup (super easy) and a rice and spinach casserole. The egg drop soup was good - though kinda a cheat. It's just about a quart of chicken stock (fake chicken stock for us vegetarians) a tablespoon of soy sauce, and a tablespoon of tomato sauce. When it's all boiling you drop two eggs (already scrambled) into the soup and whisk vigorously for thirty seconds. Serve immediately with some chopped scallions to garnish. It's not filling but it is definitely soothing.

My brother made the astute and oddly accurate remark that the casserole was both bland and spicy at the same time. Yes I know that sounds impossible, yet with my culinary skills (or lack thereof) I have achieved this dichotomous feat. Needless to say we have a lot left over in the fridge.

I have a new script up on Triggerstreet available for anyone to read. The bad news, you have to become a member of Triggerstreet to actually read any of the scripts posted there. The good news, membership is free, and they really don't give out any personal information. I've been a member for nearly a year and all my info has been kept completely and utterly confidential. The script is called Nothing into Something (working title only) and has gotten three reviews starting it off at number 96 on the site. For those of you unfamiliar (have yet to read my rants about triggerstreet here, here, here, here, here, here, and here) Triggerstreet is a forum and to a lesser extent competition for amateur screenwriters and film makers to post their work and get feedback from other members (technically it's also Kevin Spacey's production company). The feedback one receives comes in the form of reviews thus giving one's script a ranking. New rankings are compiled nightly based on any new reviews. As I see it 96 is a very respectable starting point as there are 2317 ranked scripts on the site. Being in the top 100 is great, though I wouldn't mind this one hitting the top ten. I just have to wait for more reviews to pour in.

If you are curious as to what my screenplays might be like feel free to join Triggerstreet and check for yourself. I would make them downloadable from my blog if only I knew how.

Heavens, the fever - she is upon me

Still sick. Still achey. Still nausious. Still trying to break out of my feverous delusions. I have not vomited, yet I see it as an eventuality; it's not a matter of if, just when. Hopefully some hot tea and the 60 degree (farenheit) weather outside will do me some good.

Something I forgot before. I didn't list Rawbeans Rant as a blog I read regularly, only I do read it regularly so now it is listed.

Also, for the love of pete, people - you should all go out and read Stellito's blog. Please, for your own sake.

Some sort of pun with knows and nose

It's a little after 3:30 am and I can't sleep. My nose is congested and the pressure is keeping me awake. I don't have medical insurance and I can't afford a doctor so I did what any rational person would do. I rolled up into a ball and cried in frustration (I'm awfully tired), then checked Webmd.com to see if maybe I can self-diagnose my problem. Based on my reading I've decided I'm ok, only my nasal lining swells (not an excess of mucus so there is nothing to blow out) restricting my air passages. This is exacerbated due to allergies and I think over use of nasal sprays like afrin (well in this case specifically afrin). I never use Afrin more than three days in a row. What these sprays do is reduce the nasal lining to increase air flow. the down side, when you stop using said sprays the nasal lining becomes more swollen than when you started. Maybe I'm just more susceptible than most, or maybe though I think I'm being frugal with the spray I still use it too frequently. Either way, I have to avoid allergic reactions (cats, well really fluffy cats - so I probably won't be going to my father's house this weekend) take over the counter decongestants, and drink lots of water. Also I have to eat healthier, but I should do that anyway.

I'm far too tired, congested and cranky to come up with a closing catchphrase.
