Just another reason...

That cats are much cooler than dogs. I'm sure there are plenty of dog lovers out there, but honestly, how many of your dogs actually keep your bones healthy?

Scientists have demonstrated that cats produce the purr through intermittent signaling of the laryngeal and diaphragmatic muscles. Cats purr during both inhalation and exhalation with a consistent pattern and frequency between 25 and 150 Hertz. Various investigators have shown that sound frequencies in this range can improve bone density and promote healing.

This association between the frequencies of cats' purrs and improved healing of bones and muscles may provide help for some humans.
quote taken from the Scientific American website, article entitled: Why do cats purr?

Also, you'll never see a cat use a lame set of stairs to get on and off the couch.

I have nothing against dogs, or those who love them. It's just that unless you are looking for drugs, or skiers lost in a mountain, or are a hunter, cats just make more sense (and are more usefull - and in my opinion more enjoyable - to have around).

So take that dog lovers! Cats are just cooler.

Oh buddy, your gonna catch hell for this one. I have two cats and my mother-in-law (who lives with us)has a dog (a very little dog) so I'm exposed to both. I think cats are cooler also, but I think hairballs are about the grossest thing ever!

Yes you are going to catch hell for this one....from ME!

Dogs are sooo much nicer. Cats make my eyes itch, poo in a stinky box, wreck furniture and have attitude. You can't take a cat for a walk either....

Dogs are so loveable! Soft, fluffy and fun!

BUT having said that - I respect your right to own a cat and love it more than a dog.

Buddy, are you wearing Birkenstocks on your new avatar?

Yeah, but only because they didn't give the option of sneakers. I have a nice pair of Naot sandles, but I don't wear them that often.

Also, to Rawbean, dogs ruin just as much furniture and clothing as cats (slobbering, chewing, ect). And one can prevent cat damage by purchasing a scratching post (can you say the same for a dog?) You don't have to follow a cat around and pick up it's pooh with a plastic bag.

And if by attitude you mean, freindly, doesn't bark at cars and people walking by outside, keeping you up at night, and willing to curl up next to you to relax, then yes, they are loaded with attitude.

I'm by no means against dogs, cats just make more sense.

I totally agree with Rawbean, dogs RULE! Cats are fun but way less interactive than dogs. There's nothing like your dog greeting you at the door, dorky smile and wagging tail. Cats, on the other hand, are WAY less maintenance than dogs. m'Lord is a cat lover.
